According to reports ’17-Year-Old Ben Doak Inks Long-Term Deal with Liverpool FC’ Liverpool have recently confirmed a fresh, long-term contract for the highly promising winger, Ben Doak, just 10 months after his last contract signing.
Since his move from Celtic for £600,000 in 2022, Doak’s progress has been remarkable, swiftly ascending through various age categories to become an integral part of the first team.
At the age of 17, Doak has made six appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s team, all as a substitute, and is poised to receive more playing time in his second season at Anfield.
To underscore their confidence in the Scotland U21 international, Liverpool has extended his contract for the long term. This renewal comes shortly after Doak’s initial professional contract, which he signed for three years in November.
Given that Doak has not yet reached 18 years old, official contract duration cannot exceed three years. However, it is plausible that this new contract will commence on his upcoming birthday. Irrespective of this, he will receive improved terms in recognition of his contribution to Klopp’s senior squad, with the prospect of making his full debut in the Europa League.
Liverpool’s initial match in Group E of the Europa League is against LASK, and it’s highly likely that the manager will include the No. 50 Doak in the starting lineup.
Doak wasn’t part of the U21s squad that played Morecambe in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night, as he had plans to travel to Austria instead.
During Liverpool’s pre-season, he featured in every friendly match, even scoring a header in their 4-0 victory over Leicester in Singapore.
Reflecting on his progress, he remarked, “It feels night and day from this time last year.”
He further expressed his ambition, stating, “I want to play as many games as possible. The more you play, the more likely you are to stay in the game as a whole. I’m just trying to make a career for myself – hopefully at the highest level.”
