Eddie Hearn will be left ‘shocked’ if Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury doesn’t go ahead | Boxing | Sport

The promoter is confident his fighter can see off his latest challenger, though admits Usyk will be a tough test.

“Sometimes you get an easier mandatory defence,” Hearn said. “This one is probably the toughest mandatory defence you can find.

“Horrible style, boxing genius – just a great, great fighter.

“But AJ loves that, he loves the challenge. He loves to know how good he is. He wants to show the world how good he is on Saturday night.

“Not just by knocking him out, but by out-skilling him as well.”

Meanwhile, Usyk has insisted he is “calm and confident” ahead of the biggest fight of his career so far.

“I am not going to be nervous, look why would I do that?” he said.

“If I do that would not change anything. I will definitely not get stronger, I could become weaker.

“I will be calm and confident and I will probably read a book before or watch a film, I will speak to my loved ones or I may call my son. I am not going to do nerves at all.”
