The Love Trap where rejected women are dropped through a TRAPDOOR branded ‘brutal’ by fans

A new dating show on Channel 4 has sent Twitter users into a frenzy on both sides of the Atlantic after a clip was shared online showing the rejected women being dropped through a trapdoor.

The Love Trap sees 12 women trying to win the heart of one man – while he must uncover which six contestants are genuine, and which six are faking their feelings in order to win £50,000 at the end.

When he has made his decision, he goes on to dump the women through a trapdoor – leaving viewers to brand the British series the most ‘brutal’ dating show ever.

One person wrote: ‘Anyone else think The Love Trap is the best, worst thing they’ve ever seen?’, while other fans branded it the ‘Squid Games of Love’.

Another viewer joked: ‘People falling through the floor, that concept meeting took place in a pub.’

A third added: ‘The Love Trap, when Squid Game meets The Bachelor,’ while a fourth wrote: ‘The Love Trap may be my new favourite show.’

Another admitted: ‘Why do I feel like none of them knew this was going to happen. They’re just throwing people down trapdoors over there.’

A clip showing one of the contestants, J’harie J’adore, being dropped brutally down the trapdoor after an elimination went viral on Twitter this week, causing both Britons and Americans to become quick fans of the show.

Following her dramatic drop on the show last month, J’adore revealed she had actually been one of the ‘love traps’, since she’s been in a relationship with someone for six years.

The show features 12 women competing for the attention of hunky personal trainer David Birtwistle (pictured reacting to J’Haire’s drop)
