West Ham United fans have been banned from attending the club’s next Europa League match against Rapid Wien at the end of the month. The Hammers have also been fined £29,305 in relation to crowd disturbances at some of their previous outings in the competition.
A number of West Ham fans were ejected from the stadium during their 2-2 draw at Genk earlier this month after clashing with home supporters.
A brace from Said Benrahma put the visitors ahead before Tomas Soucek’s late own goal saw David Moyes’ side drop two points.
However, the match was marred by a few moments of trouble involving both sets of fans, who were spotted fighting with each other in the stands.
UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body has since announced that the club will face a number of unwelcome sanctions as a result.
West Ham were charged with crowd disturbances and throwing of objects from the stands after the match.
They have now been hit with a £25,448 fine in relation to the former offence and will be forced to make a separate payment of £3,817 for the latter.
Hammers fans will also be prevented from buying tickets to watch their team in action against Rapid Wien in their penultimate group stage match on November 25.
