Andres Melendez Death Cause

The Cleveland Guardians announced on Thursday that catching prospect Andrés Meléndez died at the age of 20 in Miami, Florida. The cause of death was not given by the organization.

Meléndez was acquired by the Guardians in November 2019 in exchange for utility player Mark Mathias from the Milwaukee Brewers. He began his career with the Barquisimeto Brewers in Venezuela.

In 2021, the catcher appeared in 73 games for the Low-A Lynchburg Hillcats.

Meléndez was born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, and began his professional career with the Dominican Summer and Arizona League affiliates of the Milwaukee Brewers in 2018.

 Andres Melendez Obituary

Meléndez, who would have turned 21 on May 21, spent last season with the Guardians’ Low-A affiliate, the Lynchburg Hillcats. The whole statement from the Guardians, as published on Twitter, is as follows:

Andrés Meléndez, 20, died abruptly this afternoon in Miami, Florida, according to the Cleveland Guardians.

Meléndez, a Low-A Lynchburg 2021 member, is remembered by his teammates and friends as a polite, friendly, and considerate young man with a beautiful grin who left a lasting effect on others. He’ll be missed terribly.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, teammates, and everyone who knew him.

Who are Andres Melendez Parents?

Andres Melendez was born on May 21, 2001, in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, to his parents. His father and mother are equally heartbroken because their child died so young.

Aside from that, the identities of his parents are also unknown on the internet. Melendez was mute and lived in extreme solitude, never speaking publicly about his family members.

Because the prospect has always kept his personal life quiet, nothing is known about Andres Melendez’s family, particularly his parents.

We believe his family is going through a difficult period as a result of his loved one’s untimely death.
