Ahmed Musa: Eagles Will Qualify!

Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa is confident the Eagles will seal qualification for AFCON finals in Cameroon next year by getting the needed results against Benin Republic and Lesotho.

The Eagles are billed take on the Squirrels of Benin Republic this weekend and Musa whose invitation generated lots of controversies in the media because he is club-less said the Eagles are in high spirit ahead of match billed for Porto Novo this weekend.

While admitting his surprise at his invite, Musa said he is overwhelmed with the love and support shown to him by the coaching crew and his teammates since arriving camp and will do whatever is required of him in any capacity to help the Eagles achieve their aim.

“I must admit that I was surprised to be invited but then I can’t turn down the invitation by my country,” begins Skippo Alhaji as Musa is referred to by some of his colleagues at the Eko Hotels camp of the Eagles.

“I appreciate the coach and the technical crew for the confidence they have in me and also the support from my teammates too.

“The team is well motivated and all the players are in high spirit. Everybody is ready to work hard in training and we are all looking forward to a good outing in Porto Novo.

“The game will be tough but I’m sure we will qualify because we have lots of good players to get the result we need against Benin Republic and Lesotho,” Musa said while hinting on his plans to get a new club.

“The West Brom deal did not go through but I have offers from other clubs in Europe. I have stayed many months at home, so it is not easy.

“When I sign for a new club I need more trophies because I’m getting older each day. I’m just 29 now so maybe in the next two to three years I’m going to finish football. We’ll see”.

“As a free agent, I have decided to wait till the end of the summer before signing for another club,” Musa sums up.
