Aldi is one of the UK’s most popular supermarkets, with over 900 stores in the country. Now, the discount retailer has unveiled plans to open 15 new stores by the end of 2021. Will there be one in your area?

The first of the 15 stores still to launch this year will be in Edinburgh.
This shop will open on November 25, shortly before the opening of another store in Orpington on December 2.
The third shop will open in Poole on December 16.
The new branches are part of Aldi’s commitment to invest more than £1.3billion to the UK’s economy by 2023.
“The new stores bring us one step closer to our goal of making our award-winning products at unbeatable prices easily accessible to even more shoppers across the country, and we look forward to welcoming local customers in for their weekly shop.”
Aldi opened its first UK store in 1990, and since then it has competed alongside Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Lidl as part of the UK’s six biggest supermarkets.
Although Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, and Sainsbury’s are the UK’s original Big Four supermarkets, discounters Aldi and Lidl are quickly catching up.
Back in June, Mr Aldridge told Express.co.uk: “We have been investing in Britain for more than 30 years now, but we know that there are still areas that either do not have an Aldi at all, or that need another store to meet customer demand.
“Shoppers are increasingly looking to get unbeatable prices on their weekly shop without compromising on quality.”
