Spanish second division side, Almeria could increase Umar Sadiq’s release clause to €80m if they gain promotion to LaLiga at the end of the on-going season according to Spanish newspaper, Diario de Almeria.
The Nigerian joined promotion-chasing Almeria last October from Serbian side, Partizan Belgrade and has been impresive, scoring 14 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions.
Almeria have already slapped a €80m release clause on the Nigerian in accordance with Spanish football rules which demand all players must have a release clause in their contracts.
LaLiga side, Sevilla have already been linked with the former Nigeria U-23 star who scored four times in six games to help Nigeria to a bronze medal finish at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Meanwhile, Sadiq will be seeking to resume his gaolscoring business after firing blanks last weekend at the Son Moix where Almeria went, saw and were defeated 2-0 by their host, RCD Mallorca.
The Nigerian is joint third in the top scorers chart with Rubén Castro of FC Cartagena on 12 goals, four behind Uros Djurdjevic of Sporting Gijón and three behind RCD Espanyol’s Raúl de Tomás.
