Everton gaffer Carlo Ancelotti has declared Nigerian international midfielder Alex Iwobi fit for Monday’s Premier League clash against Brighton at the Amex stadium.
Iwobi missed the Toffees’ 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace last week due to a knock but Ancelotti has revealed the Super Eagle is available for selection and could make his 16th appearance in 26 Premier League games for the Toffees this term.
If he plays, it would be Iwobi’s seventh game against the Seagulls.
He has started three of the six games he has played against Brighton, scoring once (in Arsenal’s 2-0 win in October 2017) and has bagged one assist which came in the Toffees’ 4-2 win at Goodison Park last October.
The former Arsenal player will also be aiming for an Everton double against the Seagulls on Monday and it will be his third win in seven games against the relegation haunted side.
Iwobi is yet to score in the competition since he bagged the Toffees’ first goal in a 2-1 win at Wolves last January and the 24 year old will be desperate to score his second goal of the season (and third in two seasons) for Everton and 14 in 151 Premier League games since he made his debut in the competition in October 2015.
If he starts on Monday, it will be his 16th of the season and 105th overall.
The Nigerian will also be gunning for his 72nd Premier League win since he made a winning debut in the competition at the Liberty stadium where Arsenal annihilated homers Swansea
