Aston Villa boss Smith warns Chelsea: ‘We will go out to win’

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith says they won’t lay down against Chelsea on Sunday.

Villa host Chelsea on the final day, with the Blues still needing victory to definitely secure a top four finish, but Smith says his side “will go all out to win” in front of their returning fans.
That will be music to the ears of Leicester and Liverpool, of course.

“We are up against a very good team and a very good coach who has reached back-to-back Champions League finals,” said Smith.
“We will go all out to win. I expect the mentality and attitude that we saw at Tottenham on Wednesday.

“The players know what our supporters expect and what they want to see. Having 10,000 fans back, it will motivate myself and all the players.”
Villa stayed up on the final day of last season, but Smith says he wants more from his players, despite sitting in 11th position in the table ahead of the final day.

“We want more, because we were in a really good position in January,” said Smith.
“We have to strive to keep getting better, it’s that consistency that we want.”
