Breaking: Francis Uzoho Arrives Eagles Camp For AFCON Qualifiers

Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho is the 19th player to report for training for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Benin Republic on Saturday in Port Novo in Benin and Lesotho next Tuesday at the Teslim Balogun stadium.

The Cyprus-based goalie arrived the team’s Eko Hotels and Suites nest Tuesday morning and should be part of the fitness training schedule to hold at the hotel’s fitness center from 10am Tuesday.

Uzoho is staging a return to the team since October 2019 when he started against Brazil in international friendly game.

The 22 year old has remained on the sidelines until January this year when he kept a clean sheet on his return to action for APOEL Nicosia in their 3-0 defeat of Ermis Aradipou.

Uzoho has kept two clean sheets in seven league games so far this term and has conceded seven times while in all competitions he has kept five clean sheets in 11 games.

The Super Eagles goalie to the 2018 FIFA World Cup however has a strong battle to face to reclaim the team’s number one shirt from Sparta Rotterdam’s Maduka Okoye who has kept seven clean sheets in the better-rated Dutch Eredivise this term.
