Nigerian international midfielder Wilfred Ndidi scored his first Premier League goal in 16 months Tuesday night when his perfectly placed belting volley puts Leicester ahead with only six minutes on the clock in their clash against Chelsea at the King Power stadium.
It was the Nigerian’s second goal against Chelsea after heading in the equaliser for the Foxes in the 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge in August 2019 to atone for his error which gifted Mason Mount the Blues’ only goal in the seventh minute of the encounter.
Ndidi’s last Premier League goal came in September 2019 when he completed the Foxes’ 5-0 rout of Newcastle United at the King Power stadium. The goal has now brought his total tally to seven in 130 games from his defensive midfield position.
Interestingly, Chelsea have become the only team Ndidi has scored twice against.
Ndidi’s goal is ominous as Leicester City have not lost from a leading position all season.
