Brighton Vs Leicester City: Iheanacho Makes 3rd start in a row in 115th Leicester Game

Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho is in Leicester City’s starting line up at the Amex stadium where his club will be facing their host, Brigthon in a Matchweek 27 Premier League fixture.

The Super Eagles star started against Arsenal late last month in a 3-1 defeat at the King Power stadium and in the 1-1 draw at Turf Moor early this month, scoring the equaliser that got the Foxes a point.

He has been named in the first team alongside Jamie Vardy and compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi as the Foxes look to return to winning ways tonight against Brighton.

The 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner will now start his seventh match in 15 appearances in the competition so far this term. And he will hoping to score his third goal of the campaign to equal his second best season tally of three recorded in his first season (2017/18) as a Fox.

The Nigerian had his best season in front of goal in the last campaign, scoring five times in 20 appearances. This will be his 132nd Premier League game since he made his debut for Manchester City in August 2015 and 115 in all competitions for Leicester City. He has scored 26 times and provided 16 assists in all competitions while in the League, he has scored 11 times in 80 games since he switched from the Etihad to the King Palace stadium.

Ndidi on his part is making his 14th start in 15 appearances this term and 131st in 136 games since he made his debut in January 2017 after sealing a transfer from Belgian side, RC Genk to the King Palace stadium outfit.

Overall, Ndidi is making his 163rd appearances for the Foxes in all competitions and has scored nine times and provided nine assists.
