Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze was on song Sunday, scoring twice in his club, Villarreal’s 5-1 mauling of their host, Levante.
The Super Eagle has thus ended his goal drought which had extended to 15 games after he scored in the 2-0 defeat of Valladolid last November.
The goal was his first brace in the LaLiga on 88 attempts and also the first in Spanish football.
The goals bring his total tally for the season to three to equal last term’s goal scoring feat and he will be eager to at least net two more to equal his best tally of five LaLiga goals in a single season.
The goal is also his third against Levante after scoring against the Valencia-based outfit in a 2-0 win in March 2019.
