All doubts over the availability of Villarreal of Spain winger, Samuel Chukwueze for Nigeria’s two 2022 African Nations Cup qualifying games against Benin Republic and Lesotho were dispelled Tuesday morning when the dashing winger storms the team’s Eko Hotels and Suites’ nest Tuesday afternoon.
Nigerians were skeptical of Chukwueze’s availability when two Spanish clubs, Leganes and Almeria stopped the respective duo of defender, Kenneth Omeruo and striker, Sadiq Umar.
Chukwueze’s arrival has brought the number of players in camp to 21 following the arrival of the duo of Francis Uzoho and Zaidu Sanusi early Tuesday morning.
The 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner will be aiming to score his third goal for Nigeria and fourth goal of the season when Nigeria visit Port Novo on Saturday to confront the Squirrels of Benin Republic in the first of the two games.
The 21 year will also be aiming to score his second goal against Lesotho next Tuesday at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos after scoring in the 4-2 defeat of the Crocodiles in Maseru in November 2019.
He was on target in the 4-4 draw against Sierra Leone last November at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City.
