Antonio Conte claims he has no problems with José Mourinho and insists he will decide his future when the right time comes.
Mourinho was appointed Roma coach on Tuesday, meaning the Special One would meet Conte again after their tumultuous relationship in the Premier League.
Roma’s statement announcing José Mourinho came during Conte’s interview with Italian tv show Le Iene.
“It’s great news for everybody, I wish him the best, except when he plays against Inter,” Conte said.
Will they hug each other when they meet again?
“For sure, there is great respect between us,” the Inter coach added.
Mourinho was the last coach to win the Serie A title at Inter before Conte.
“It was a great satisfaction for us and the fans. I celebrated with my family,” the Italian tactician said.
“When I join a new team, I become the first supporter and I remain a fan of the clubs that I’ve coached.”
Did Juventus President Andrea Agnelli congratulate him?
“I saw he congratulated President Zhang, and that’s enough,” Conte replied.
The contract of the 51-year-old expires in June 2022, but will he stay at Inter next season?
“Let’s enjoy this moment, there will be time to talk together, with the President and the directors, to choose the best path for Inter.”
Romelu Lukaku has played a key role at Inter this season, but will he ever reach the level of Cristiano Ronaldo?
“Ronaldo is a champion and has proved his worth. Lukaku is a great footballer. Ronaldo has a higher reputation, but Romelu has all the tools to achieve important things,” the Inter coach concluded.
