Inter Milan Head coach Antonio Conte has categorically ruled out selling 28-year-old former Tottenham star Christian Eriksen ostensibly in light of his winning goal in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals against city rivals AC Milan (2-1) Tuesday night.
Barely a month ago, Inter Milan chief Giuseppe Marotta himself confirmed that the club was looking for a buyer for the former Tottenham star who had not been happy at the Italians until then.
“I’ve been repeating for a month how it is at Inter: no one comes and no one leaves. I’ve been saying this for a month. You don’t believe me or you don’t want to believe me,” Conte said on TV channel Rai Sport.
Eriksen has been widely regarded as one of Inter’s biggest misunderstandings in recent years: Having arrived with great expectations for €27 million from Spurs in January 2020, the Danish playmaker has never managed to sustainably assert himself, let alone reach his top form. In the calendar year 2020, Eriksen lost €55 million in market value.
