Cristiano Ronaldo showcased his class on Friday evening as he led Al-Nassr to their first Saudi Pro League win of the season with an emphatic win over Al-Fateh. The forward scored a hat-trick in his side’s 5-0 victory, though it was his assist which will be remembered on the night.
After losing both of their opening matches of the season, Al Nassr finally secured their first three points of the campaign in impressive style to showcase that they have truly arrived. Sadio Mane opened the scoring for Luis Castro’s side, in what was undoubtedly the goal of the night.
Ronaldo was at the heart of the move, with the ex-Manchester United star having the ball played into his feet with his back to goal. However, rather than taking a touch, the Portugal international sensationally backheeled a flick into the path of Mane.
The Senegalese star then made no mistake with a delicately chipped finish to cap off a world-class move that has received plenty of praise on social media after clips were posted online. Ronaldo’s brilliance didn’t stop there though and he rose highest to head home his first goal in the 38th minute.
The ex-Real Madrid hero then put the game to bed in the 55th minute when tapping in from close range after a neat passing move. The three-goal lead then sent the away supporters into a frenzy, and their players were equally pleased.
Mane then grabbed his brace in the 81st minute and celebrated in familiar fashion, mimicking Ronaldo’s trademark ‘Siu’ – much to the amusement of his teammates. The ex-Bayern star was then substituted off moments later, and the forward was able to see how the celebration was truly done when Ronaldo scored his hat-trick with one of the last kicks of the game to complete the routing.
