Crystal Palace and Manchester United saw out a forgettable goalless draw at Selhurst Park on Wednesday night.
Chances were few and far between in south London as fog descended over the stadium – apt considering the manner in which the sides drifted through proceedings – and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United were forced to settle for a point which all but confirmed Manchester City will cruise to the Premier League title this season.
On a night when fellow top four hopefuls Leicester City also dropped points, the real winners were Man City as they head into Sunday’s Manchester derby 14 points ahead of United.
It could have been worse for United had Dean Henderson not made a superb late save to deny Patrick van Aanholt.
The draw was another solid result for Roy Hodgson’s Eagles. Despite another unconvincing attack display, Palace have now picked up five points from their last three games.
