Srdjan Djokovic, the father of 18-time Slam champion Novak Djokovic, has told Croatian media that he sees his son as not only the greatest tennis player in history, but among the greatest athletes of all time, period.
‘According to weeks spent at No. 1, head-to-head matches, number of Masters titles [he is the greatest ever],’ he said in an interview with Sportske Novosti.
‘The only thing he lacks is Olympic gold and those two Grand Slam titles that he will win this year [to equal Federer and Nadal’s tallies],’ he continued.
Regarding the future of the Serbian superstar, his father had this to say:
‘His career will last another year and a half, two, up to three at most, when all possible achievement will be in his possession.
‘He is still the best tennis player in the world and one of the best athletes of all time.
‘He’s in the category of Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan now.’
