Victor Osimhen is currently number one on the list of Nigerian players with the highest accumulated transfer fees paid for them in their career, according to transfermarkt.
Osimhen has now been transferred from one club to another on four different occasions with his last move seeing him leave LOSC Lille of France to Napoli in the Italian Serie A.
And so far, so good, the Super Eagles attacker has commanded accumulated transfer fees of €99.4m (a staggering 40 billion naira), making him lead the way ahead of Odion Ighalo.
Osimhen’s first ever transfer deal that was completed on January 1, 2017 saw him leave Ultimate Strikers Academy of Nigeria for VfL Wolfsburg in Germany for an amount of €3.5m.
His loan transfer from Wolfsburg to RSC Charleroi of Belgium on August 22, 2018 cost nothing while Charleroi paid €3.5m to Wolfsburg to secure his services on a permanent deal.
Osimhen’s third move was when he made a departure from Charleroi to Lille in the French Ligue 1 for a fee of €22.4m with the transfer being sealed on August 1 of the year 2019.
The 22-year-old’s fourth and last move which saw him emerge the costliest Nigerian player was on September 1, 2020 and that saw him join Napoli from Lille for a fee worth €70m.
Coming after Osimhen is Ighalo (€53.5m from 6 moves), Brown Ideye (€43.1m from 6 deals), Obafemi Martins (7 transfers at €42.9m) while Ahmed Musa is fifth with 3 moves at €41m.
