Roy Hodgson revealed that Eberechi Eze will need to pass a late fitness test in order to line up for Crystal Palace in their last home game of the season against Arsenal.
The midfielder has been in fine form of late, revelling in a midfield three as Palace have gone for a more attacking formation against the likes of Sheffield United, Southampton and Aston Villa.
The 22-year-old has had an impressive debut season in the Premier League, with Hodgson stating after his recent good form that he expects the midfielder to kick on and really show what he can do.
However, an injury problem could prevent him from doing so in front of 6,500 Crystal Palace supporters with Arsenal the guests at Selhurst Park on Wednesday evening.
But Hodgson is hopeful that both Eze and centre-back Scott Dann will be available for selection against Mikel Arteta’s side.
“We’ve got some team news, I suppose,” Hodgson told reporters. “We’ve got a couple of players that we need to assess for the game tomorrow (today).
“That’s going to be Scott Dann and Eberechi Eze. We’re going to have to assess them before the game. I’m hopeful that they’ll make it but we’ll have to wait and see.
Ebere Eze has started 29 of the 34 games he has played in the English top flight league in his first season and has scored four times and bagged six assists.
