Villarreal boss, Unai Emery has said that he is very much optimistic of having Samuel Chukwueze back and fully fit for the Europa League final against Manchester United.
Chukwueze was stretchered off in Villarreal’s semi-final tie against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium early May and it was confirmed he had sustained a muscular damage to the quadriceps in his left leg.
The Nigerian international was, however, pictured in training with his team-mates on Wednesday, a very strong indication that he is in the frame to make an appearance against the Red Devils next week.
Chukwueze’s return to training comes after Villarreal manager, Emery revealed that he is a doubt for the final encounter of the 2020/21 La Liga season against Real Madrid on Saturday.
Emery, however, confirmed that he could feature against United next week Wednesday. Should Chukwueze be fit to play, he would be a massive boost to Villarreal’s chances of causing an upset.
