Filip Hrgovic is feeling confident that Anthony Joshua will do the job on Tyson Fury when they finally face each other in the biggest fight in British boxing history.
Joshua, 31, will finally get his shot at becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world when he puts his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles on the line against his fellow Brit’s WBC and The Ring belts in an mouthwatering clash.
The fight that everyone has been waiting for is almost here, with promoter Eddie Hearn confirming an official announcement on a site and date is imminent, and Hrgovic has had his say on which of the two British heavyweights will emerge victorious.
Unbeaten Hrgovic, 28, has backed Joshua to overcome the odds and beat Fury when the pair eventually meet as he believes AJ has the advantage and is a much better boxer than most people give him credit for.
Asked to share some thoughts on Joshua vs Fury, Hrgovic said to Sky Sports: “It will be a huge fight. I can’t wait, like a fan, to see that. I hope they make an agreement soon. A lot of people are writing off Joshua and are giving Fury the advantage because of their last performances.
“[They say] Joshua has slowed down.
“But in my opinion Joshua has more tools to beat him. He is the bigger puncher, he throws more combinations, he is good with the jab and fast with his feet, he is better at inside-fighting.
“Fury has his awkward style but that’s all he has.
“Joshua is the more complete fighter. I give a little edge to Joshua.”
