Former England striker Gary Lineker says Kelechi Iheanacho has developed into a wonderful player and hails the Nigerian for his clinical finishes.
Iheanacho bagged an assist before scoring the winner as the Foxes came from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at the King Power Stadium to give their hopes of securing a top-four finish in the Premier League this season a significant boost.
Former Foxes striker Lineker was wowed by the Nigerian’s composure in front of goal as well as the quality of his winner.
“Oh my God,” said the Match of the Day presenter. “What a goal from @67Kelechi. What a man. What a wonderful player @67Kelechi is becoming/already is. Such a lovely finisher with a delightful touch and great awareness. Love the fella.”
It was Iheanacho’s ninth goal in in his last seven Premier League outings and 14 in his last 14 games in all competitions.
Wilfried Zaha had put Palace ahead after a quarter of an hour as Leicester’s usually solid back three were cut open on the break.
City had not previously won this term when trailing at the break but changed that statistic courtesy of a second-half fightback.
Timothy Castagne equalised soon after the interval and Kelechi Iheanacho scored a stunning winner with 10 minutes of the match remaining.
Leicester are back in Premier League action on Friday night when they take on Southampton at St Mary’s (8pm kick-off).
