Gerrard: Aribo is really back!

Rangers manager cc says Nigerian international midfielder Joe Aribo is back to his best following his performance at the Ibrox Stadium stadium on Saturday in the 5-0 drubbing of Ross County.

Aribo’s left footed strike on 37 minutes off a James Tavernier’s assist increased Rangers’ lead to 3-0 and the Nigerian’s haul for the season to five in 17 appearances.

Gerrard was pleased with the performance of the Super Eagles star whose market value soared by 250% from €1m in July 2020 to €3.50m this month.

“Joe Aribo is back for real when he’s scoring goals like that. He’s out at the corner flag and then he’s putting it in the top corner. That’s what we all know he’s capable of,” said Gerrard of his Nigerian import who ended his 10-game goal drought for the table-topping Rangers in the Scottish premiership.

The Rangers manager will be hoping Aribo can replicate his impressive performance on Wednesday at the Easter Road stadium where they will be guest of Hibernia in a Matchweek 26 fixture.

Aribo has scored once and assisted once in the same game against Hibernian and the Nigerian will be seeking to add their host to the number of clubs he has scored twice against in the league after St. Johnstone and Livingston.
