Jacqueline Avant, the wife of music legend and entrepreneur Clarence Avant, was shot during a home invasion robbery on Tuesday.
According to TMZ, the Avants were at their Trousdale Estates home in Beverly Hills when a gang of people burst in and one of them opened fire, hurting Jacqueline.
She was rushed to the hospital, where she regrettably died.
Clarence was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October, and The Black Godfather, a Netflix documentary about his impact on mainstream culture and Black music, was published in 2019.
Jacqueline Avant served on the Board of Directors of UCLA’s International Student Center and was the President of the Neighbors of Watts, a support group centred on child care.

Clarence Avant, a famed music executive who was just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, was shot and died at home Tuesday night, according to TMZ.
It took place in Trousdale Estates, a posh neighbourhood near Beverly Hills.
Beverly Hills PD received a call for a home invasion around 2:30 a.m., according to authorities.
Someone had been shot, according to the caller.

Jackie had already been transported to a local hospital when they arrived.
According to a family member, the intruders who broke into the residence fired rounds, striking Jackie.
