Former Nigeria international, Odion Ighalo has been snubbed for the 17th time in a row by Manchester United gaffer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who omitted the former Watford star from the list of players named to face Liverpool at Anfield.
Ighalo has featured for just nine minutes in the competition so far this term and that was way back in September in the 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. Since then, the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer, whose loan deal expires at the end of this month has made the Red Devils matchday squad list just once in the 4-1 defeat of Newcastle last October and has been snubbed 16 times.
The Nigerian’s chances of starting a Premier League game or scoring in the competition for his boyhood club are remote and he has just three games left to redeem his image.
Interestingly, Liverpool are just one of only three clubs Ighalo has scored a brace against in the competition, scoring in Watford’s 3-0 defeat of the Anfield side in December 2015 at the Vicarage Road stadium.
Ighalo has featured 67 times in the Premier League since he made his debut in the 2015/16 season, scoring 16 times and has provided just four assists with a total of `153 shot fired (62 on target) and 41% shooting accuracy.
