Kelechi Iheanacho was an unused substitute for the 55th game in 184 Premier League when his club, Leicester City defeated reigning champions Liverpool Saturday evening at the King Power stadium.
Prior to the game the Nigerian international forward had featured six times against Jurgen Klopp’s side, drawing one and losing five.
The former Manchester City star was however an unused substitute for the third time against Liverpool denying him the opportunity of scoring or assisting a goal against the visitors. It also denied him his first win.
Meanwhile his Nigerian compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi provides his first assist of the season in his 11th start in 12 games in the competition.
Overall it was the defensive midfielder’s sixth assist in 132 games since he made his Premier League debut in January 2017.
Ndidi has now started 127 times and made 520 tackles with a 63% success rate. He has scored seven times including one this term and has made 276 successful interceptions.
