Leicester City have been handed a huge blow in the person of Kelechi Iheanacho who will miss the Europa League Round of 32 second leg tie against Slavia Prague due to suspension.
Leicester must win at the King Power Stadium next week to progress in the Europa League after a tight and feisty goalless draw at the Sinobo Stadium in Prague on Thursday evening.
The Foxes will, however, have to navigate their way through to the competition’s Round of 16 without the services of Iheanacho who was cautioned in the 65th minute against Slavia.
Iheanacho in the process picked up his third yellow card so far in the Europa League this season and as a result, the Nigerian ace will automatically miss the Foxes’ next fixture.
According to leicestermercury.co.uk which rated Iheanacho 5 after replacing Jamie Vardy in the 64th minute: “Iheanacho put himself about but a little too much for the officious referee who booked him to give him a suspension.”
Fellow Nigerian compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi was rated 6 after the combative midfielder also made sure his name went into the referee’s book after bagging a yellow card on 46 minutes.
leicestermercury.co.uk wrote: “Ndidi took risks at the back and was a little too nonchalant at times, while he didn’t impose himself on the fixture as he did against Liverpool.
“Did not shy away but did not make as many tackles as he usually does.” Iheanacho has scored three goals and made four assists in seven Europa appearances for the Foxes this season.
