Super Falcons of Nigeria forward, Rasheedat Ajibade has said that her move to former Spanish champions, Atletico Madrid Femini ‘is a great step in my football career’.
Ajibade on Friday, New Year’s day joined Atletico on a two-year deal from Norwegian club, Avaldsnes where she was for two years after joining from Robo Queens in December 2018.
She joined Atletico, her second move in Europe after her contract with Avaldsnes expired in December 2020. The 21-year-old scored eight goals in 18 matches last season.
After sealing her move to Las Rojiblancas, the striker expressed joy over the transfer to Spain and cannot wait to hit the ground running with the Madrid-based outfit.
“It is a great privilege and an opportunity to be here,” Ajibade told the club website in the very first interview she granted after she was unveiled on Friday morning.
“I am excited to be a part of this team and I hope that together we achieve success. It is a great step in my career and a great challenge for me and I am ready to give it my all.
“I am a versatile, versatile, energetic, and hard-working player. I tell the Atléticos that I’m going to do my best so that they and the team can feel proud,” she said.
