Jose Mourinho will take Victor Osimhen to the highest level of football, according to Paolo Liguori, an Italian sports journalist.
Osimhen is already making a positive difference at Napoli having arrived during last summer’s transfer window.
And that was on the back of his impressive campaign with Lille in the Ligue 1.
After joining Napoli for 80 million euros, the Nigerian international’s debut campaign hasn’t totally been a hit.
Osimhen’s maiden season with the Partenopei has been bedevilled by injury, suspension and coronavirus-related problems.
The forward now appears to be gradually hitting top form again, though.
That is after scoring six goals and bagging an assist in his last ten Serie A appearances for the Partenopei.
Liguori feels Osimhen is already performing to expectations under Gennaro Gattuso at Napoli but backs the Nigerian to blossom with Mourinho managing him.
“Victor Osimhen needs someone like Jose Mourinho who can guide him because he is an absolute talent.
“If he finds a coach who also acts as his father, he can truly become a great player in European football,” Liguori told 1 Station Radio.
