Iwobi out to help Everton push for Europe in 155th EPL game

Alex Iwobi will go all out to help Everton push for Europe as they face Sheffield United in an out-rightly tricky Premier League fixture which takes place at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Iwobi is desperate to secure a place in Europe next season and insists Everton not winning their remaining two home matches, starting against relegated Sheffield Utd is not an option.

It will be the Nigerian’s 155th Premier League game since he made his debut in the competition as an 89th minute substitute in October 2015. The Super Eagle will also be making his 65th appearance for the Toffees in all competitions if he gets to play.

Iwobi switched Arsenal’s Emirates stadium for Everton’s Goodison Park in August 2019 after making 149 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions, scoring 15 times.

He will also be looking forward to score his third Premier League goal for the Toffees in 55 appearances after scoring once in his debut season and once so far this term.

Iwobi has featured just twice against Sheffield United and the Nigerian will be hoping he delivers against the relegated side as his place in the Toffees’ squad for next season looks shaky after failing to live up to expectations following his transfer from Arsenal.

The Nigerian international midfielder has started 17 of 29 Premier League games for the Toffees so far this term and he has scored once and provided just two asissts.

A win for Everton on Sunday with the Nigerian in action will make it his 72nd in 155 games and a goal will increase his overall haul to 14.
