Sanusi ready to stop Ronaldo again

New Super Eagles defender, Zaidu Sanusi will be looking to stop Cristiano Ronaldo from scoring against him for the second consecutive time as Porto take on host Juventus in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie at the Allianz Arena tonight.

Sanusi featured prominently and was in action for 90 minutes penultimate week as Porto made home advantage count against Juventus following their 2-1 win against the Serie A giants at the Estádio Do Dragão.

The Eagles star was part of Porto’s strong defence-line that kept Ronaldo silent for all 90 minutes as the Portuguese superstar failed to score on his return to his home country.

Ronaldo remains the highest goalscorer in the history of the Champions League with 134 goals to his credit till date and will also be looking to make the difference against Porto having been rested a bit at the weekend, playing for just 20 minutes in the 3-1 home win over Lazio.

Sanusi and Porto go into tonight’s game with a slight 2-1 advantage but they are aware that just one goal will be enough for Juve to go through and it remains to be seen if they can shut out Ronaldo again as the Italian giants look to continue their desperate chase for the Champions League trophy.

The 23-year old Nigerian left-back has made seven appearances in his debut out in Europe for Porto this season scoring one goal in 617 minutes of Champions League football.

Porto are currently second in the Portuguese Primeira Liga behind Sporting CP while Juventus are third behind Inter and AC Milan in the Italian Serie A table.
