Samuel Kalu is very much close to making his return for Bordeaux from a muscular problem. But today’s Ligue 1 game against Saint-Etienne at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard comes to soon.
Bordeaux’s torrid fortunes continued with a 3-2 defeat to Strasbourg last time out. And as they go into their 2500th Ligue 1 outing in history, they will hope to defeat Saint-Etienne.
Kalu is, however, definitely out even as Bordeaux seek to recover quickly from their latest setback. And that is when they travel away to do battle against Saint-Etienne in today’s Ligue 1 game.
Sportsmole wrote ‘Samuel Kalu is nearing return from muscular problem. But he will not face Saint-Etienne and Gasset is unlikely to make many alterations despite his side’s pitiful form.’
Kalu is one of the most skillful players in the Super Eagles and Bordeaux as he shoots with boot feet.
His form has improved in recent times with the 23-year-old who has been a regular starter for Bordeaux this season, playing 18 league games, netting four goals and making one assist.
Kalu has, however, been injured since last month and that was precisely on March 15 during training but is set to make a return from the thigh muscle strain on April 18 versus Monaco.
With a terrible record of one win, one draw and eight losses from their last eleven fixtures across all competitions, Bordeaux are now closer to the bottom three than they ever were.
