Kelechi Iheanacho: Chelsea defeat painful

Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho admits there was a heavy disappointment after defeat to Chelsea.
Iheanacho struck for the Foxes in the 2-1 defeat.

He lamented afterwards, “It’s so painful. We needed to win this match. The first half was not so good, but in the second half we were much better. It was just hard for us to come back.
We gave everything tonight.
“It was hard for us and now we have to win the last match and try to secure a place in the Champions League,” said the Nigerian international forward who set an unique record in the defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday evening.

The Nigeira international has been in hot form since the start of February and became the first player in English Premier League history to score on all seven days of the week in the same season, when he found the back of the net at Stamford Bridge.

Iheanacho sweeped home a pin-point pass from Super Eagles teammate Wilfred Ndidi to halve Leicester’s deficit in London, but the Blues held on for all three points to move above the Foxes on the Premier League table.

The 24-year-old has scored all 12 of his Premier League goals this season in the last four months and has done so in just 15 starts.
