Kelechi – The 24-year-old striker has hit seven goals in his last four games, including a hat trick against Sheffield United and two in the FA Cup quarter final against Manchester United in his last two appearances.
The Sun claim he will be rewarded for that with a new bumper contract this summer to tie him to City.
And, judging by the reaction when Leicester posted a clip of him in action on social media over the weekend, that would go down pretty well.
One said: “Amazing what a bit of confidence can do for a player, long may it continue Kelechi!”
Another added: “Difference between him now and then is the team wasn’t designed around him, it was set up for Vardy. Now our team can finally accommodate Kelechi’s style of football.
“You cross him the ball he’ll score. You give the ball to his feet and from inside or outside the box he’ll score, the team has given him confidence and vice versa. We can play with two up front and the midfield behind allows that.”
One said: “You know, I’m getting used to seeing Nacho scoring goals. He slips through defenders like butter!”
Another said: “Just love to watch this over and over again. Uncountable times. Kels is putting smiles on my face.”
There was one supporter who noted a sharp turnaround in opinion.
They said: “One minute fans were saying that you had enough chances and we should get rid . And some saying you were a Championship player at best . Some saying that you were lazy…
“But now there has supposedly been a miracle and you have been lauded as the saviour alongside Jamie. What a difference some goals make. And fans are now looking at you in a different light.
“Obviously I hoped Kelechi would find a place in our team as things had not been going too well for him but the injury to Jamie gave him a great opportunity for more match time and low and behold Kelechi has won the fans around. Long may it continue.”
