Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool have to beat Manchester United “more than 100%” when the two sides meet in the Premier League over the weekend.
With five matches to go in the Premier League season, the Reds trail fourth-placed Chelsea – who occupy the final Champions League spot – by four points.
Everton, Tottenham and West Ham will all think they still have a chance of snatching that all-important fourth spot too.
A match against Man United is always their biggest game of the season but it takes on extra meaning at the business end of the season.
“Whatever situation you are in, when you are a Liverpool player or manager, this is the game” said Klopp.
“It’s the best place to go after watching them score five in one half. A lot of things can happen, we just need to make sure we are ready for it.”
Asked by a reporter if Liverpool have to win, Klopp said: “More than 100%.
“Without winning games we have no chance of having European football. It will be a tough game, intense.
“We saw Man United Thursday night and they are good, especially when you let them play.
“They were flying. I am pretty sure United still feel they have a chance [for the title]. Both teams have to win it which is a good recipe for the game.”
