Leicester City Boss,Rodgers Rues Iheanacho’s Suspension –Blasts referee for Ndidi,Kelechi yellow cards against Slavia Prague

Leicester City boss,Brendan Rodgers says Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were both unfairly booked in the Europa League round-of-32 first leg tie Thursday night at Slavia Prague, with the latter’s booking, shown just a few seconds after his introduction, proving costly as it earned him a suspension for the second leg.
Rodgers also felt that his side did not get decisions they deserved, with Cengiz Under hauled down closed to the edge of the box late on.
The City boss said: “I thought the officials were really poor, I’ve got to say.
“I don’t comment so much on them because I know it’s a very difficult job. But some of the decisions… I think we had Wilf (Ndidi) booked and Kelechi for the use of the elbow and it was clear it wasn’t. They were challenging for the ball, especially Wilf.”
The card was Ndidi’s first in three Europa League games this term and second overall in nine matches in the competition while for Iheanacho,it was his third in seven games this season.
The striker is Leicester City’s most prolific forward in the competition so far this season with his seven goals involvements. He has scored thrice and provided four assists.
The Nigerian has also scored twice in seven UEFA Champions League games while with Manchester City to bring his total goals in 14 European club competitions to five goals and four assists.
Iheanacho will now be hoping his team qualifies for the next round of the competition so that he can have the chance to add to the number of goals he has scored.
