Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers has disclosed that the club will still access the full fitness of Wilfred Ndidi ahead of Sunday’s game while praising Kelechi Iheanacho.
Rodgers had earlier said at Thursday’s pre-match presser that Ndidi should be available for their Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux on Sunday.
The powerful midfield enforcer suffered a hamstring injury against Everton in January and has subsequently missed their last two outings against both Leeds United and Fulham.
Speaking after his side defeated Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night, Leicester coach, Rodgers given a positive update on one of his major players who missed out.
But on Friday, the Northern Irish tactician sang a different song that he will need at least the next 24 hours to decide whether to pick Ndidi for this weekend’s tie at Wolves.
“We will see with him over the next 24 hours, just whether it’s worth the risk or not,” he said. “He’s coming along very, very well. We will assess that. If not for the weekend.
“He will definitely be available for mid-week against Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup fifth round.” Jamie Vardy is back from a hernia operation but Iheanacho has done well.
“Kelechi, the other night, was terrific in his work,” Rodgers said. “He scored a great goal and he will be high in confidence. It’s great Kels got his goal as he worked so hard.”
