Samuel Kalu will be optimistic of doing the double over Dijon who are FC Girondins Bordeaux’s next opponent in the Ligue 1, having scored against this weekend’s rivals earlier this season.
Kalu who has five goals and one assist in 17 French top-flight appearances during the 2020/21 season netted when Bordeaux beat Dijon 3-0 at the Stade Matmut-Atlantique on 4 October, 2020.
And come Sunday at the Municipal Gaston Gerard, Dijon’s home ground, Kalu and his club-side, Bordeaux will be going all out to secure the double in terms of goals and wins over their host.
Two out-of-form sides clash as basement club, Dijon host Bordeaux with both teams heading into this fixture having accumulated just one point from their last twelve league games combined.
Bordeaux are win-less in their last seven league games, conceding 12 goals in the process. Dijon have the longest on-going losing run in the Ligue 1, having lost their last eight in a row.
A narrow 1-0 loss to reigning Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain has extended Bordeaux’s winless run across all competitions to eight matches with seven of those games ending in defeat.
Bordeaux have lost their last three Ligue 1 away games but have not lost four in a row in the competition since January and February of the year 2019 and look better-placed to defeat Dijon.
