Fulham forward Josh Maja made his English Premier League debut Saturday at Craven Cottage as a 79th minute substitute for Antonnee Robinson against West Ham.
Maja made a loan switch from French Ligue 1 side, Bordeaux on transfer deadline day and Fulham gaffer, Scott Parker is already banking on the Nigerian to deliver the goals that will fire the Cottagers to safety.
Boss Parker said: “He has the finishing touch. We only really have one striker, and that’s Aleks (Mitrovic), so in terms of competition and in terms of extra help, it’s important.
“The boy’s a good clean finisher. You can see that (in training). He can use both feet, and we need to score goals. Josh can help us with that.”
Maja is not new to English football as the Londoner played 51 games and scored 18 goals before joining Bordeaux from Sunderland. He featured 17 times in the Skybet Championship, 24 in League One, six in the EFL Trophy and four in the FA Cup.
Prior to his loan move, Maja scored twice in 17 Ligue games in the Ligue 1 for Bordeaux.
