Man United, Man City keen to sign €15m Chukwuemeka

Man United and Man City are set to challenge teams across Europe for Aston Villa youngster Carney Chukwuemeka, according to reports.

The 17-year-old came through the ranks with League One outfit Northampton Town. He got a big move in 2019 as he joined Aston Villa’s academy.

The winger has continued to progress well since he joined Villa. He has been capped by England’s U17s and U18s.

His fine performances at youth level were rewarded this week as he was handed his Premier League debut against Tottenham.

With Villa beating Spurs 2-1, Chukwuemeka was brought on in stoppage time. He came close to scoring as he struck the post with a long-range effort before the final whistle.

It has been reported that Borussia Dortmund are the team most interested in the midfielder. German outlet BILD have claimed that they are “actively monitoring” the Englishman.

They add that the German side face competition to sign Chukwuemeka, though. It is said that Man Utd, Man City, PSG and Bayern Munich have all “put feelers out” for the winger.

Dortmund see him as a successor to Jadon Sancho, who has been heavily linked with a move to Man United.

Villa have reportedly told Borussia Dortmund that they will have to pay €15m if they are to sign Chukwuemeka this summer.
