Man United’s Luke Shaw set to be out for a number of weeks with muscle injury, after Mason Mount picked up a hamstring knock that could sideline him for six weeks
Man United left back Luke Shaw has picked up a muscle injury that will rule him out for a number of weeks.
The injury was announced in a statement from the club on Thursday night which claimed Shaw was ‘still being assessed.’
He has started both of United’s Premier League games so far this season, and was one of Erik ten Hag’s most regular starters in his first season in charge.
The 28-year-old would likely have played in their home clash with Nottingham Forest on Saturday, with Tyrell Malacia his most likely replacement.

Mason Mount is also unavailable after injuring his hamstring against Tottenham

Erik ten Hag’s side have made an unconvincing start to the season and currently sit 12th
Ten Hag is expected to give an update on team news in his press conference on Friday.Â
It is not the first injury to hit Old Trafford this week, with Mason Mount also sidelined for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury picked up in last weekend’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham.
The result came after another uninspiring performance from the Red Devils, who were fortunate to win their first game of the season against Wolves and were beaten in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Burnley this week.
Fans will be hoping for a rapid improvement in performances after seeing their slide stumble to 12th in the table after two games.Â
