Man Utd discover Andre Onana’s ‘latest view’ on missing four games after early howlers | Football | Sport

Andre Onana is considering a U-turn on his decision to return to Cameroon duty ahead of this winter’s Africa Cup of Nations amid a nightmare start to life at Manchester United, according to reports. Onana could snub Rigobert Song and remain at United as he focuses on settling at Old Trafford.

After a disagreement about his goalkeeping style, the 27-year-old quit the Cameroon national team after Song sent him home from the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

And during negotiations with United ahead of his £47million arrival from Inter in the last, Onana reportedly told the club that he didn’t plan on returning to international duty.

However, under pressure from the Cameroon FA and government, he agreed to feature in September’s AFCON qualifying decider against Burundi.

Onana produced an inspired display in a 3-0 victory, sealing Cameroon’s spot in the tournament, commencing in the Ivory Coast in January.

Song called him up again for games against Russia and Senegal during the October international break, intensifying talk that he will be involved at AFCON.

But ESPN report that Onana has doubts about representing Cameroon at AFCON and will discuss the matter with officials in the coming weeks.
