Man Utd look to ‘close deal’ for Liverpool target as Erik ten Hag problems mount up | Football | Sport

United are set to explore the market for a left-back, with free agent Ryan Bertrand one of the players on their radar. Bertrand last played for Leicester, leaving at the end of last season.

If Amrabat does end up joining United, Liverpool will have to look elsewhere for further reinforcement. Bayern Munich star Ryan Gravenberch is a target.

However, TuttoMercatoWeb claimed on Friday that the Reds had seen a bid of around £41million rejected, with Bayern keen to keep the Dutchman beyond the transfer deadline. Liverpool have spent around £110m on their three new additions this summer.

Klopp admitted on Friday he is working on a restricted budget and is prepared to head into the rest of the season with his current squad. He said: “It is not my job to complain, it is my job to take the team we have at the end of the transfer window and make the best of it and not sitting here thinking (grumbles) ‘oh they have this and they have that’. That’s how I understand it.”
