Solskjaer has overseen huge improvements at Old Trafford, however, after a dreary half a decade under David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Mourinho.
Despite winning the Europa League in 2017, Mourinho was an unpopular figure in Manchester and Solskjaer’s more attacking style of football has been welcomed by fans.
The Norwegian boss led United to a third-place Premier League finish in his first full season at the helm, before steering his team to second last season.
“We’ve added some exciting players going forward, we’ve scored goals, and it’s a nice time to be an attacking player for us as well,” Solskjaer said earlier this week.
