Manchester United could reportedly use any fee they receive for Jesse Lingard in the final week of the transfer window to test Rennes’ resolve for Eduardo Camavinga. The French teenage sensation is in the final year of his contract with the Ligue 1 club, who are now open to a late sale to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer.
Camavinga is not short of admirers either with United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid among those to have expressed an interest in the wonderkid.
He is widely regarded as one of the brightest talents in French and European football, meaning it’s easy to see why he’s not short of potential suitors.
Yet there is still a strong chance Camavinga could remain at Rennes until at least January given there is little time remaining in the transfer window.
Real Madrid appear to be focused on Kylian Mbappe while PSG are focused on keeping him.

While Camavinga is more a box-to-box midfielder, he would still represent an upgrade on Fred and arguably Scott McTominay.
Rennes’ owner Francois-Henri Pinault has already expressed his frustration at Camavinga’s agent Jonathan Barnett for trying to engineer his client’s exit.
It’s still unclear whether Camavinga will be a Rennes player come this time next week.
That could now hinge on whether West Ham make their move for Lingard and it appears that Hammers do have money to spend.
Yesterday, they were on the verge of completing the signing of Kurt Zouma after striking a £26million deal with Chelsea.
When recently quizzed on Lingard, David Moyes laid down a marker that it was up to United to decide the attacker’s future.
“We really enjoyed having Jesse, but Jesse’s a Manchester United player,” Moyes said.
“The questions are not for me, the questions are for Manchester United.
“If the opportunity arose for us to get Jesse we’d have an interest but in my mind he’s at Manchester United and it’s not for us to discuss.”
