Yves Bissouma is reportedly one of the names on Manchester United’s radar as they explore the signing of a defensive midfielder. The Red Devils believe they have completed their summer business but the club remain open to signing another midfield player should the right opportunity present itself.
Any deal is likely to be reliant on outgoings though with Jesse Lingard, Donny van de Beek, Phil Jones and Diogo Dalot all potentially up for grabs.
United have been operating with last season’s preferred midfield duo of Fred and Scott McTominay in recent weeks.
Yet there is an understanding that there is room for improvement in the United engine room.
The Independent are reporting that Declan Rice is one player United like but the club will have to wait to increase their chances of signing the England international.

While that is likely to have impressed United, last season’s Premier League runners-up want someone who can help them control possession from deep.
It’s understood United would like to sign someone of the Rodri or Jorginho mould, to help them gain more control in the middle of the park.
Paul Pogba’s future is also likely to impact United’s thinking.
As it stands, they are very happy with the Frenchman after he became the first player in Premier League history to assist five goals in the opening two matches of the season.
But it appears he is unlikely to sign a new contract at the club meaning United need to think about signing his replacement, as opposed to just any midfielder.
Eduardo Camavinga is a player that has been continuously linked with United and he could leave Rennes this month.
Like Pogba, he too is out of contract next summer and Rennes want to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
The future of Lingard, in particular, could prove influential when it comes to United signing another midfielder this month.
