Manchester City’s 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain means the Cityzens have set a new record for the longest winning run by an English side in Europe’s elite club competition.
Pep Guardiola’s side have now won seven matches in succession, moving ahead of Manchester United (1965-66), Leeds United (1969-70) and Arsenal (2005) who all managed six in the European Cup/Champions League.
Indeed, City remain unbeaten in this year’s competition. Their record now reads: P12, W11, D1, L0.
It was a hugely significant night as City reached the Champions League final for the first time in their history.
The Cityzens’ unbeaten home run in the competition is stretched to a remarkable 14 matches (W13, D1), with the 2-1 loss to Lyon on Matchday 1 in 2018-19 their last defeat at the Etihad.
